Joe has many years of progressive experience with RSM, working with both public and privately held companies ranging from the pre-revenue development stage to mature organizations with more than $6 billion in revenues. He has extensive experience advising on initial public offerings and debt transactions, as well as significant experience in working with private equity groups and their portfolio companies. He has served clients in several industries, including consumer products; industrials; manufacturing; and television, radio and broadcasting.
Joe joined RSM in 1996 after more than 10 years with a regional accounting and consulting firm in New York. He relocated with RSM to the West Coast and advanced to audit partner. Joe has previously served on the firm's board of directors. He is passionate about delivering high-quality client service through the power of understanding what clients and colleagues want to accomplish. Joe invests in the success of his clients and colleagues, and he works hard to bring both to fruition.
Joe is influential in the firm’s culture, diversity and inclusion initiatives. He participates in all of RSM’s employee network groups. However, he finds a particular passion for STAR, AACE, ¡Hola¡ and Pride, the firm’s groups dedicated to encouraging the success of women, Black and Hispanic professionals, respectively. He is also involved in the firm’s mentorship program and has been instrumental in helping young women and black professionals advance in the firm. He is known for his specific brand of constructively challenging others, pushing the next generation of RSM professionals to pursue leadership positions within the firm.
The oldest son of Italian immigrants to the United States, Joe is the only one of his four siblings who attended college. He recognizes the impact his education had on the trajectory of his life and pays that forward with his involvement in campus recruiting for RSM. Joe finds a common kinship with first-generation students who may not have the resources to successfully navigate the challenges of college and a career in business. He is grateful to his father’s friend, who suggested he pursue an accounting degree to have an honorable profession, which he has enjoyed for more than 30 years.
