Aureon Herron-Hinds leads the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) and global information reporting services in RSM US LLP’s international tax practice.
Aureon has more than 25 years of experience advising some of the world’s largest financial institutions on tax withholding and reporting requirements for complex cross-border transactions, as well as representing clients in tax examinations and appeals of these issues before the IRS.
She is a licensed attorney and former IRS revenue agent. Prior to joining RSM, Aureon was the director of global information reporting at a Big Four firm, a member of the national tax controversy services practice for another Big Four firm, and an associate at the law firm Parker Chapin Flattau & Klimpl.
Aureon is a frequent author and lecturer who has published articles in several professional journals, including The Tax Advisor, Corporate Business Monthly, and The Mergers and Acquisitions Journal. She also co-authored a chapter on tax information reporting for several years in the Lexis-Nexis published treatise, “Collier on Bankruptcy.”
As a dedicated champion of diversity and inclusion, Aureon leads RSM’s African American and Canadian Excellence employee network group and has led or designed several innovative programs and initiatives focused on the recruitment, retention, and development of professionals from diverse backgrounds.
She is also an avid philanthropist and community activist. She has served on the board of directors for several community organizations, including the Iris House for Women and Imani Altisimo. In addition, she’s a member of Delta Sigma Theta sorority, a national organization that is dedicated to community service, and was an advisor to the board of directors for the Robin Hood Foundation.
