An attorney by trade, Alexandra uses her extensive knowledge and experience to advise tax-exempt organizations, donors and investment funds with respect to the complexities associated with the tax law affecting exempt organizations and charitable giving.
Previously a tax attorney at two large international law firms, Alexandra honed her exempt organization specialty in public accounting, where she has been able to expand her client portfolio and experience. She provides transactional analysis and planning for exempt organizations and their donors and represents exempt organizations before the Internal Revenue Service with respect to IRS examinations, private letter rulings and applications for recognition of tax-exempt status.
Always up for solving a puzzle, Alexandra found that exempt organizations presented complex problems that required her strongest skill sets of analytical thinking and strategic problem-solving. She leverages her deep knowledge of the industry to guide organizations through transactional opportunities, ensuring that they understand the parameters of the law surrounding exempt status. She enjoys helping philanthropically motivated clients maximize their planning for future generations, whether through direct giving or the establishment of their own charity or foundation.
At RSM, Alexandra enjoys the collaborative and supportive work environment. She appreciates that the firm’s five characteristics of first-choice advisors—caring, curious, collaborative, courageous, critical thinkers—are the core of RSM’s culture. She is a frequent thought leader and speaker on topics related to exempt organizations and a member of the firm’s STAR employee network group, which supports high-performing women on their path to success.
When she’s not advising clients, Alexandra can be found traveling the world. She has visited all 50 U.S. states, nearly 40 countries, six continents and has hiked Mount Kilimanjaro.
