Alex helps companies and organizations develop and implement a robust sustainability agenda within their business model to improve environmental and socioeconomic outcomes and boost corporate financial performance. He helps measure and quantify the financial and nonfinancial impact of integrating sustainability and ESG considerations across an organization. As an economist, he follows data illustrating that companies embracing ESG and sustainability in a meaningful way are better managed and more profitable. Alex has participated in and led more than 200 consulting engagements in many parts of the world, including Canada, the US, Mexico, South America, Europe and Australia.
Passionate about developing sustainability solutions specific to middle market clients, Alex helps clients make informed and strategic decisions that add to firm value and improve societal outcomes. He believes that to solve societal problems like climate change, income inequality and environmental degradation, companies in the private sector need to take a proactive role in creating change.
As part of RSM’s culture, diversity and inclusion efforts, Alex is regional leader of RSM Canada’s multicultural employee network group, supporting employees with multicultural backgrounds and experiences. He has worked with a number of indigenous communities on various projects related to resource revenue sharing and other economic development initiatives.
Alex joined a predecessor firm of RSM Canada in 2017 and was named national industry leader for government, health care and education. Prior to joining RSM, Alex led the Toronto economics practice of a global engineering firm and helped establish an economics and statistics practice at an international consulting firm.
Outside of RSM, Alex loves traveling, reading and cooking. He recently tried his hand at fermentation and is fascinated by the process.
