Accounting Today Names RSM’s Joe Adams to 2021 Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting List

CHICAGO – (December 8, 2021) – RSM US LLP (“RSM”) – the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market – is pleased to announce that its Managing Partner & CEO Joe Adams was named to Accounting Today’s 2021 Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting list.

The Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting are all honored for their high-profile roles in advancing the profession. They have made an exceptional impact over the past year and are primed to exert that influence in the year ahead.

The publication’s Top 100 People supplement, Harnessing the waves of unprecedented change, says that as the continuing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic crystalize into the “next normal,” the 2021 Top 100 Most Influential People are sharpening their focus on the most urgent of these major economic shifts.

According to Accounting Today, “The Great Resignation” was far and away the most urgent issue on the radar of this year’s Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting, including Adams, who believes that by focusing on creating vibrant and diverse career paths, we can make it “The Great Attraction” instead. As the need to find and retain staff grows more critical, he has continued to prioritize diversifying his team and the profession, hiring executives with DE&I expertise, establishing task forces, and joining industry programs committed to improving these efforts.

Adams has been managing partner & CEO with RSM since 2011. He is a member of the Illinois Society of Certified Public Accountants, the governing board of the Center for Audit Quality, the AICPA Major Firms Group and the Economic Club of Chicago. Adams earned a B.A. in accounting and an MBA in operations management from DePaul University.
