RSM's Ernie Almonte Takes Helm as President of the AGA

CHICAGO – (August 2, 2019) – RSM US LLP (“RSM”) – the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market – is pleased to announce that the Association of Government Accountants (AGA) recently named RSM Boston partner Ernie Almonte as president of the national Association for 2019-2020.

AGA is the member organization for government financial management professionals. The group leads and encourages change that benefits the field and all citizens. Training events, professional certification, publications and ongoing education help members build their skills and advance their careers in the public sector. Members work in government financial management across sectors and worldwide, and are focused on increasing government financial performance and accountability.

As president of the AGA, Almonte is responsible for supporting the organization’s mission of advancing accountability, transparency and leadership by promoting education, certification, innovation and collaboration across all levels of government and stakeholders. Almonte will be responsible for  providing leadership to the national governing board (NGB), facilitating the NGB’s role in strategic planning, directing the NGB’s efforts in identifying and addressing emerging issues, helping guide and mediate board actions with respect to organizational priorities and governance concerns, acting as a national spokesperson for the Association. During his term, Almonte will continue to educate government professionals about how to maximize technology innovations, such as data analytics. He’ll also harness diversity and inclusion efforts across agencies.
