RSM helps Texas Tech save $325,000 now and even more in the future
CASE STUDY |
Construction projects are expensive enough without paying more than you should. That's why Texas Tech University hired RSM to conduct a construction audit on a $29 million residence hall project. But savings weren't the only goal. They also wanted to protect their relationship with their long-time contractors.
Combining a knowledgeable and disciplined team and a collaborative approach, RSM delivered on both counts, identifying $325,000 in savings while maintaining good relationships with all parties. But RSM didn't stop there.
As part of the engagement, RSM also prepared a Rapid Assessment® of Texas Tech's contracting and construction management practices that highlighted opportunities to save on all future construction projects.
"The immediate savings from the construction audit are great," said Kimberly Turner, Chief Audit Executive for Texas Tech, "but opportunities for improvement that RSM helped us to identify will help us to save money and control our risks on every construction project. That's the type of real improvement we are aiming for."
