The platform can handle firm fixed price, time and materials, cost-plus, and hybrid contracts with ease and can exclude costs disallowed in FAR Part 31 (Contract Cost Principles and Procedures) or in other contract provisions. Real-time calculation of indirect costs is available using cost pools and cost allocation features, including allocation of indirect costs to intermediate and final costs. Built-in features control transactions based on performance period and funding limits at project and activity levels.

RSM GovCon provides several additional features to support a successful DCAA audit and compliance with Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) guidelines. These include system-level controls for user role, permissions and privileges to ensure only authorized users can access relevant data; and approval workflows that can be deployed and customized to ensure that pertinent labor, expense and other items pass through the required process.

To comply with timesheet requirements, you can enter reasons for timesheet changes, establishing audit trails and traceability. The platform also calculates total time accounting (sometimes called time dilution or compression) and offers templates that help government contractors streamline the completion of Incurred Cost Submission forms—traditionally a time-consuming, often manual, task.

Microsoft D365, M365, and Azure are available in both FedRAMP moderate and high compliant environments, with high standards for cloud systems that meet the flow-down requirements of DFAR Supplement clause 252.204-7012, enabling customers to handle controlled unclassified information on behalf of the Department of Defense to leverage the platform.

In addition, D365, M365, and Azure are hosted on GCC and GCC High clouds meets the security requirements of Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) 2.0 levels 1-3. Users are permitted to handle controlled unclassified information (CUI) on behalf of the Department of Defense, as well as ITAR controlled data when leveraging the RSM GovCon platform.

RSM GovCon provides out-of-the-box reports designed specifically for government contractors, including statements of indirect rates, project status reports and project unbilled trends. Out-of-the-box invoicing features include formats commonly required in government contracting including templates for Standard Forms 1034 and 1035.
