Wally previously held senior leadership roles at a Big Four firm, including as global regulatory leader, global independence and conflicts leader, and deputy chief risk officer; in addition, he chaired the Transnational Auditors Committee of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and served on the IFAC board’s Planning and Finance Committee. He is a former chair of the Global Public Policy Committee’s Standard-Setting, Global Independence Leads and Regulatory Working Groups, and he has served on the AICPA Governing Council and the Standard-Setting Boards’ Nominations Committee of the Public Interest Oversight Board.
Wally is a forward-thinking senior leader with over 30 years of experience motivating and empowering teams at multidisciplinary professional services organizations in both the U.S. and globally, with personnel in over 120 countries. His proven ability to effectively navigate cultural differences and engage international stakeholders has produced smart regulation and professional standards that support the proper functioning of the capital markets. He has led numerous technology, policy and process transformations to build risk resiliency, respond to changing regulatory requirements, ensure compliance and drive global consistency with improved performance. Additionally, Wally has created and implemented functional strategies while developing the next generation of talent to anticipate, respond to and succeed in rapidly changing environments.
Wally has presented at the IFAC Chief Executives Forum, the World Congress of Accountants and the World Bank CReCER Conference, and he has been published in the Wall Street Journal’s CFO Journal and CIO Journal.
