Jerry Martin is partner and U.S. leader of the international tax practice for RSM US LLP. He specializes in advising global businesses and plays a key role on the firm’s tax global strategy and tax leadership teams.
As international tax leader for RSM, Jerry focuses on working with RSM’s global teams to serve clients’ international tax planning and compliance needs. He began his career with RSM in January 1995 and rejoined the firm in 2003 after five years leading the tax function at a public company. Since rejoining RSM, Jerry has specialized in international tax services for globally active businesses.
He has worked with leadership to expand RSM’s global capabilities and to harness technology that enhances the talent experience for RSM’s people, brings innovation and efficiency to how clients are served, and accelerates the firm’s momentum as the first-choice advisor to middle market leaders globally. He was previously chair of the board’s mergers and acquisitions and finance committees. He also taught advanced international mergers and acquisitions in the master’s program at the University of Minnesota and currently serves on the business school’s advisory board.

His deep knowledge of firm strategy enables him to surround clients with the right people and skills to help clients make good business decisions. Jerry cares deeply about the RSM employee experience and strives to help others in the firm achieve success. He views the firm’s work as a way to improve the lives of colleagues and add value for clients.
As a husband and father of two, Jerry knows you can’t have meaningful relationships with others—whether colleagues or family members—if you don’t put in the time. Although busy with his career, he prioritizes time with his children. Whenever possible, Jerry and his family enjoy life at their cabin in Minnesota.
