About Ian

Ian Ziegler is the national leader of RSM US LLP’s compensation consulting team. He assists middle market employers with compensation research and design solutions.


Experience

In his team leadership role, Ian focuses on helping middle market employers align their compensation strategy and tactics to their overall short- and long-term business goals. His 20 years in the compensation field include internal experience at large publicly traded companies and, primarily, leading compensation consulting professional services in client-facing roles. Over that time, he has worked with employers of nearly all sizes, legal structures and industries.

Ian’s typical services include executive and broad-based market pricing, short- and long-term incentive design, and pay structure design, as well as many other specialty services. He works closely with client ownership and executive leadership to analyze solution approaches with conscious alignment to the needs of the organization as a primary goal. Leveraging his deep compensation experience, he provides clients with nuanced insight and valuable historical context.

Ian regularly advises internal firm personnel, client owners and executives, and the compensation community on technical and strategic compensation matters. He develops and publishes firmwide thought leadership and educational materials to expand RSM professionals’ knowledge on the subject of compensation. In addition, he has designed, compiled and published over two dozen compensation surveys throughout his career.
