As the national credits and incentives leader at RSM Canada, Danny sets the vision and direction of the Canadian credits and incentives practice. He has more than 30 years of extensive public practice and private sector experience advising multinational corporations across a wide range of industry sectors, primarily life sciences, in the areas of scientific research and experimental development incentives, digital media tax credits, and all areas of government grants and incentives. Danny is the firm’s designated official with controlled goods security clearance, giving him the ability to serve clients in the defense and aerospace industries.
Danny works with life sciences companies to help them capitalize on tax-efficient strategies and his team provides a full range of services to life sciences clients, including digital transformation, enterprise resource planning implementation support, initial public offering and capital market readiness as well as services around credits and incentives. Danny is passionate about serving clients and delivering value, and he has a proven track record of progressive growth as a practice leader.
Danny started his career in public accounting at a Big Four firm before moving to industry for 20 years, during which time he served as chief financial officer within several high-profile Canadian companies. His experience on the client side provides him with a unique perspective as a certified public accountant advising CFOs. After his roles in industry, Danny started his own R&D tax firm that he eventually sold to an international tax firm before joining RSM.
Danny is also passionate about the growth and development of his team, ensuring that they stay engaged, satisfied and empowered to serve as first-choice advisors to middle market clients. He participates in the firm’s culture, diversity and inclusion efforts as a member of STAR, RSM’s employee network group supporting women professionals, and Interfaith, the firm’s ENG celebrating members in their faith-related activities.
Born and raised in a small, remote northern Quebec mining town, Danny’s first language was French. He learned English at the age of 12 when his family moved to Mississauga, Ontario.
