Dan Grassel has over 13 years professional experience within the fields of IT auditing and consulting services, focusing primarily on clients in the consumer products industry.
As a director for RSM’s technology risk consulting practice with experience in both information technology and information security, Dan has led numerous IT risk assessments, operational audits and internal audit IT Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) engagements. He is also a lead contributor to the firm’s national IT risk methodology group, responsible for developing programs and standardizing RSM’s approach to technology risk assessments and audits.
In addition, Dan is a senior analyst for the consumer products industry practice and a member of the firm’s Industry Eminence Program. He works alongside RSM’s chief economist and other senior analysts to understand, forecast and communicate economic, business and technology trends that affect middle market businesses.
Prior to joining RSM, Dan served six years in the United States Marine Corps Reserves in the field of logistics and was also tasked with overseeing and coordinating the training of a company of Marine reservists, reaching the rank of sergeant, before honorably separating at the end of his initial enlistment.
