The award, now in its 19th year, was announced in Tucson at the Business Group on Health 2024 Annual Conference. The comprehensive award criteria assess applicants on their approaches to leadership, culture and well-being strategy; holistic well-being, including mental health, financial well-being, social connectedness, job satisfaction, flexibility and time away; engagement and the employee experience; health equity and social determinants; and metrics and evaluation. Companies have the option to apply based on their U.S. or global workforce populations.

Applicants for the Best Employers: Excellence in Health and Well-being Award do not have to be members of the Business Group on Health. Entries are reviewed by a panel of peer employer judges.
