Cybersecurity best practices and considerations for the public sector

The Department of Homeland Security has designated October as National Cybersecurity Awareness month. While you may not think state and local government entities are a major target for cyberattacks, unfortunately they are just as likely to be targets as private sector organizations.

The 2017 NetDiligence cyber claims report shows that the average cost of a breach in the public sector is $76,984. While not all breaches can be prevented, there are several ways you can try to mitigate against them including educating staff, being aware of the biggest threats facing the public sector, and implementing and utilizing technology effectively with a security oriented mindset.

Join RSM on Oct. 30 to better understand the latest cybersecurity threats facing the public sector and how to build a security program to mitigate against them.
