Planning for the BEPS initiative: What the middle market needs to know
RECORDED WEBCAST |
With the growth of the digital economy and an increase in cross-border activity, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has recently increased its efforts to stop taxpayers seeking to avoid taxation by transferring profits to low-or no-tax jurisdictions and taking advantage of inconsistencies among global tax regimes. In order to address these practices, the OECD launched the Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) committee in September 2013 to develop an action plan to standardize and modernize global tax policy. This series of webcasts offers insight and analysis into how the BEPS initiative might be implemented and the effect of that implementation on middle market multinational entities.
Key topics will include:
- Overview and history of the OECD and the BEPS initiative
- The anticipated reaction of the European Union and U.S. legislative and regulatory bodies to the BEPS initiative
- Current and future developments in the BEPS Action Plan regarding transfer pricing issues
Presenters include members of RSM's international tax team:
- Curtis Best, Partner
- Ramon Camacho, Principal
- Mario van den Broek, Partner
- Enrique Rayon, Senior Manager
