Event overview

As finance and accounting teams adopt artificial intelligence, leaders face a practical challenge: distinguishing strategies and tools that deliver genuine, measurable value from those that offer limited functionality despite carrying an "AI" label. The more important question is no longer whether to invest in AI, but how to evaluate and demonstrate the return on that investment.

This session examines how to assess AI in the finance function using measurable outcomes. RSM AI advisors will review metrics that indicate real value—including hours returned to the organization, shorter monthly close and forecasting cycles, reduced error rates and control deficiencies, lower cost per transaction and improvements in audit efficiency. We will also explore how to identify embedded, auditable AI that operates within accounting workflows, as opposed to add-on tools with limited integration.

Participants will leave with a framework for evaluating AI investments, questions to raise with prospective vendors about control, traceability and auditability, and an approach for measuring time-to-value across the finance function.
