In May 2020, Lori was selected as a senior analyst in RSM’s cutting edge Industry Eminence Program, which positions its senior analysts to understand, forecast and communicate economic, business and technology trends shaping the industries RSM serves. These senior analysts advise clients on conditions influencing middle market leaders. Lori’s focus is on the health care industry.
Summary of experience
Lori has more than 25 years of experience as an accountant and business advisor. In addition to her role as a health care senior analyst, Lori is also RSM's Great Lakes region health care industry leader. She has led audits of hospitals whose operations include academic medical centers, acute hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, senior living and long term care facilities as well as community hospitals, behavioral health care organizations membership organizations, foundations, colleges and universities, voluntary health and welfare organizations, private schools, federated fundraisers and most other types of nonprofit and government organizations. Her knowledge and experience includes a thorough understanding of Government Auditing Standards and Uniform Guidance. Lori is up to date with the various industry audit guides promulgated by the AICPA and other federal audit guides. She is currently in compliance with the CPE requirements under Government Auditing Standards.
As a frequent speaker, Lori has been instrumental in the growth of RSM’s health care and nonprofit practice, which encompasses hundreds of organizations in Ohio. In addition to her client responsibilities, Lori has spearheaded marketing and business development functions. She consults with clients on a variety of topics, from long-range planning and budgeting to tax compliance and audit issues.
Lori’s commitment to the government and nonprofit sector goes beyond her client base. She has a strong commitment to the community and currently serves as a board member and finance committee chair of Ursuline College and as an advisory committee member of the John Carroll University Department of Accountancy. On a voluntary basis, she consults with nonprofit organizations on a wide range of issues, such as compliance, operational and fiscal operations, cash flow forecasting and budgeting, financing issues, internal control and board governance issues. Lori is a past recipient of the YWCA Woman of Professional Excellence. Lori served as the Great Lakes regional leader of STAR, an RSM employee network group whose mission is to promote the stewardship, teamwork, advancement and retention of RSM’s women.
