ABOUT KATE

CDI experience

Kate serves as the national leader for RSM’s STAR employee network group (ENG), which advocates for women in the workplace with a focus on stewardship, teamwork, advancement and retention opportunities. As the leader of RSM’s women’s initiative, she focuses on women’s advancement at the firm, including leading the development of programs and tools to promote self-advocacy and to engage allies. She also looks for opportunities to leverage RSM’s Culture, Diversity and Inclusion program in the marketplace.

Kate previously served as the national leader of InspirAsian, RSM’s employee network group that provides support and guidance for RSM's Asian professionals. She leads a private equity initiative for women in RSM’s Great Lakes region. She is a board member of the Midwest Chapter of Ascend, the nation’s largest Pan-Asian business professional organization, and received the Ascend Inspiring Across Generations Award – High Impact Leader 2019. Kate is also a member of the Chicago Finance Exchange and Council of Korean Americans.

Summary of experience

Kate is an assurance partner primarily focused in the financial services sector. She has experience with a variety of industry participants, including business development companies, private equity funds, venture capital funds, broker-dealers, futures commission merchants, hedge funds and commodity pools. Kate is responsible for serving clients, developing the firm’s financial services audit methodology and providing consultations and quality reviews for engagement teams. She is also the capital markets audit technical leader.


STAR employee network group

Through STAR, members have opportunities for mentorship, sponsorship, specialized training and community service. They also have access to national organizations and events that provide professional development for women, including the AICPA’s Global Women’s Leadership Conference.

The STAR women’s network is RSM’s largest employee network group. It supports the advancement and retention of women by promoting advocacy, allyship and sponsorship and by providing professional development through networking, business development and growth skills opportunities.
