RSM pledges more than $2.6 million to help employees and communities
The week of March 16, RSM pledged more than $2.6 million to support its employees and local communities through the COVID-19 pandemic.
Every employee in the U.S. and Canada may charge $50 per week for food on their expense reports through the week of April 15. This is intended to support RSM’s employees and their families, as well as to help local businesses in our communities.
Any funds not used by employees will be donated to food banks in the U.S. and Canada. The RSM US Foundation has already contributed $50,000 to provide some initial support for feeding our communities.
“We wanted to do something to help our employees and our communities during this difficult time,” said RSM US LLP Managing Partner and CEO Joe Adams. “Providing people support in purchasing food for themselves and their families serves a dual benefit—it helps them while also supporting local businesses, such as restaurants, that have had to close their dining rooms and operate on a carry-out or delivery basis to slow the spread of disease.”
“We are donating any funds not used by our employees to food banks in the U.S. and Canada,” said Doug Opheim, chief financial officer and chairman of the RSM US Foundation. “Stewardship is one of our core values, and RSM wants to make sure we are doing our part to support our communities during these challenging times.”
These are unprecedented times for all of us. And it’s humbling to see all of the ways our people, our clients and others around the country and around the world are helping one another through the uncertainty. At RSM, we’d like to encourage you to share your stories of community unity and support by using #HelpEachOther in your social posts.
Take care, and be healthy!
