Recognizing Ramadan

RSM provides an inclusive workplace for all of our 13,000+ employees nationwide and in Canada. And it’s in that spirit of inclusion that we regularly pause to recognize and celebrate the differences that make each of us unique. Ramadan, which began April 12 and runs through May 11 this year, is one of the holiest months of the year for our Muslim colleagues and others around the world, so we take time each year to recognize its significance.

Throughout Ramadan, Muslims commemorate the revelation of the Qur’an by fasting during daylight to demonstrate self-control, gratitude and compassion for others. It’s also a time of self-reflection, devotion and spiritual rejuvenation, which is often marked by a focus on stewardship – one of our firm’s core values. That’s why you often hear of food drives and other charitable activities related to Ramadan.

The end of Ramadan is celebrated with feasting taking the place of fasting, and although COVID-19 continues to have an impact, those who recognize Ramadan are finding ways to connect with family and friends—virtually or in person. We hope you’ll join us in recognizing Ramadan and those who celebrate it.
