As leader of the national professional practice team, Rick assists clients and audit engagement teams working through complex, high-risk situations by helping reconcile real-world situations with professional standards and firm policies. His national leadership role is the culmination of his time advising clients and managing transactions—experiences that inform how he leads his team and develops people. Previously the director of the Eastern regional professional practice office and a client-serving partner for many years, Rick has deep experience providing audit, transaction assistance and risk advisory services for domestic and international clients in a wide array of industries, including consumer products, industrials, technology and financial services.
An empathetic leader, Rick is known for his ability to relate to client situations. With his deep experience, he’s developed a keen sense of judgment to guide teams through issues related to personnel, regulators and acute deadlines. He is passionate about stewardship within the firm and committed to talent development. He provides on-the-job training to his team, creating opportunities for real-life client scenarios where they can help solve problems.
Rick participates in RSM’s culture, diversity and inclusion efforts as a member of the Multicultural employee network group. He is a champion of the firm’s efforts and has participated in the firm’s Courageous Conversations series at the leadership level, keeping CDI front and center as he executes his job and assists with recruitment.
Outside the firm, Rick has served on several nonprofit boards that help low-income populations gain access to educational opportunities. He is currently on the board of SEED, an organization whose mission is to bring STEM curriculum to underserved populations in the Boston area.
