Michael Barton has more than 20 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions. He has extensive experience in advising large and midsize U.S. and multinational companies—both publicly and privately held—on U.S. federal tax issues.
Michael is highly motivated and exceptionally skilled at helping clients incorporate quantitative models into their processes. He specializes in section 382 ownership change studies, section 1502 stock basis calculations, earning and profit studies, and Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganizations. In addition, he is skilled at helping clients navigate transaction cost analyses, purchase price allocations for asset purchases, and debt issues.
Michael works diligently to provide general corporate tax advice in connection with corporate reorganizations, acquisitions, and divestitures. With the ability to explain complex tax issues in simple, digestible terms, Michael provides clients with high-level services.
