About Katie

Katie Lamkin is chief human resources officer for RSM US LLP and is responsible for design and execution of the firm’s talent strategy to develop an unrivaled and inclusive culture for all RSM employees. She joined the firm in 2001.   


Experience

As human resources leader, Katie views RSM’s talent experience as the north star that guides the firm. She is passionate about the opportunity to create a workplace where people can bring their full selves to work, personally and professionally. With more than 30 years of experience in the human resources field, including 20 years with RSM, Katie has a deep understanding of how a diverse and inclusive culture leads to success in a values-based professional services organization. 

During her tenure with the firm, Katie’s primary focus areas have been the firm’s talent strategy and employee experience. She oversees the more than 300 talent professionals including human resources recruiting, learning and professional development, and total rewards. Before joining RSM, Katie was director of human resources for a high-tech manufacturing firm and honed her skills during years of experience in the health care and hospitality industries.  

Through years of strategic planning and intentional conversations, Katie has been instrumental in establishing an environment at RSM where employees can truly thrive. She is energized by the future direction of the firm and the space RSM creates for people to be who they truly are at work. Her experience in strategy development and team alignment ensures an unrivaled and collaborative talent experience for all. She holds herself and the firm accountable for the successful execution of the talent strategy. Her greatest reward is for all RSM employees to experience an inclusive workplace that celebrates the differences among talented people, while enabling them to embrace full ownership of their work and personal lives. 

As part of the firm’s efforts to attract and retain a diverse workforce, Katie is deeply involved in enabling RSM’s culture, diversity and inclusion strategy. She ensures that CDI is a key priority that is integrated into efforts around the recruitment, training and advancement of RSM’s workforce.  

When she’s not building high-performing teams at RSM, Katie is building on her home improvement skills. She can often be found with a power tool in hand in the midst of a home remodeling project, tearing something down in order to create something new.
