Erica’s experience includes federal, state and local employment tax compliance; wage and benefit taxability; loaned project management services; and various aspects of worker classification. She has worked on employment tax matters in mergers and acquisitions, advised on multistate and remote worker payroll issues, conducted state unemployment reviews, and performed payroll process reviews and implementations. In multistate and remote worker matters, Erica has reviewed the tax implications for various types of deferred compensation and fringe benefits to meet evolving federal, state and local regulations.
As part of her loaned project management services, Erica has worked with companies implementing new payroll or timekeeping systems. This includes ensuring the systems were accurately calculating payroll for complex rules, such as when collective bargaining agreements or state wage and hour regulations require extra consideration.
In recent years, she has focused on the health care, technology and finance sectors.
In addition to employment tax concerns, Erica has been involved with large-scale data analysis utilizing Alteryx and Power BI.
