Cassie Conley

Partner, Corporate Tax Services

Summary of experience

Cassie Conley is a partner in RSM’s corporate tax services practice and the firm’s ASC 740 strategy leader. With more than 20 years of experience advising companies on income tax accounting matters, she works alongside a dedicated team of specialists across the firm to support RSM’s approach to accounting for income taxes, delivering consistent, high-quality execution on complex client engagements.

Cassie advises on the firm’s most challenging ASC 740 matters, combining deep knowledge of corporate income tax rules with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) requirements for financial statement tax reporting. She is frequently consulted on high-risk and judgmental issues, including valuation allowances, uncertain tax positions, business combinations and tax provision reporting.

Her client base includes private equity portfolio companies, pre-IPO organizations and publicly traded corporations, with a particular emphasis on multinational and multistate businesses. Cassie regularly assists clients in navigating the tax accounting implications of growth, acquisitions, restructurings and evolving tax legislation, leveraging RSM’s extensive ASC 740 resources to address each client’s unique needs.

Cassie works closely with tax departments and management teams to enhance income tax reporting processes, integrating tax provision tools, data analytics and internal controls in ways that are practical, scalable and tailored to each organization’s environment.

Beyond client service, Cassie provides firmwide leadership for ASC 740. Her focus includes mentoring professionals, advising on complex consultations and advancing RSM’s income tax accounting capabilities. Her leadership work supports the continued development of ASC 740 professionals across the firm and reinforces a collaborative, team-oriented approach to serving clients.

Prior to joining RSM in 2014, Cassie spent nine years at a Big Four firm providing tax compliance and ASC 740 services to globally active corporations.
