Iowa Audit, Tax and Consulting

The origin of our firm

RSM was founded in Iowa when Ira B. McGladrey bought the Cedar Rapids and Davenport offices of Billings, Prouty and Tompkins in 1926. Today, the Iowa Association of Business and Industry ranks us as the largest accounting firm in Iowa, with over 600 employees in the state. Our professionals specialize in providing exceptional service in key Iowa industries, including manufacturing, financial institutions, construction, real estate, education, insurance and health care.

Recent recognition

In 2019, the Cedar Rapids, Iowa City and Waterloo offices were named the Corridor Business Journal's Best IT Support Company and Cybersecurity Company, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame for the Best Accounting Firm. The Des Moines office was named the Des Moines Business Records' Best Accounting Firm and the Best Computer Consulting Firm.

Commitment to the community

Beyond serving our clients' needs, our professionals devote their time, money and efforts to several local charities and activities across the state. In 2018, the offices joined together to raise over $157,000 for local charities through the firm’s Birdies Fore Love program as a part of the RSM Classic.

The Iowa offices support Team RSM player Zach Johnson's annual Zach Johnson Foundation Classic, which raised more than one million dollars for Zach's "Kids on Course" foundation in 2019.
