Scott Richter is a senior director in RSM US LLP’s financial investigations and dispute advisory services practice, based in the New York office. He has more than 25 years of experience in corporate finance, consulting and auditing, in addition to his work in the forensic accounting and litigation consulting areas. 

Prior to joining RSM, Scott was in the forensic accounting and litigation consulting practices at other leading consulting firms. He also served as the vice president of finance for corporate integration at one of the world’s largest advertising and marketing communications conglomerates, and previously he was a vice president of finance and corporate controller at a large advertising firm. Scott began his career by advising leading multinational entertainment, media and information services companies for a Big Four public accounting firm. 

Scott’s forensic accounting and litigation consulting experience includes acting as both an advocate and neutral arbiter in numerous post-acquisition disputes, conducting investigations relating to fraud and malfeasance, CPA malpractice, restatement of financial statements, fraudulent transactions, defalcations, breaches of contract and post-acquisition disputes. His clients have included public and private companies in industries such as manufacturing, media, retail, professional and financial services, and investment banking.
