David Brunori is senior director of state and local taxes in the Washington National Tax office at RSM US LLP. He has more than 30 years of experience advising clients on state tax policy planning, controversy and policy development.
A seasoned professional on tax policy issues, David teaches, writes and consults on a wide variety of state and local tax and public finance issues. He is the author of “State Tax Policy,” as well as several other tax policy books and hundreds of articles and papers. He is a regular contributor to Law 360 where he writes a column on state and local tax practices and policies. A much sought-after speaker, David regularly presents on state tax policy issues at conferences around the country.
Before his work at RSM, David was a partner in a national law firm, served as an executive in an international nonprofit organization, and was a trial attorney with the Tax Division of the United States Department of Justice.
In addition, David serves as a visiting professor of public policy at the Schar School of Public Policy and Government at George Mason University where he teaches state and local public finance and federal budget policy.
