William “Bill” Clarkin is a managing director of the financial institutions management consulting team at RSM US LLP.
In his managing director role, Bill focuses on organic growth; efficiency and cost takeout; transformation of all kinds; data strategy and data analytics to drive growth and manage costs; full-lifecycle mergers and acquisitions, from inorganic strategy to due diligence to post-merger integration; system implementations; system and vendor selection for financial institutions; and banking and fintech strategy.
Prior to joining RSM, Bill gained more than 25 years of managerial and technical experience in consulting and corporate roles. Bill has managed due diligence and/or integration of over 20 acquisitions; run a global payments product team transforming to a profit-and-loss-focused team; executed a $500 million takeout for a leading North American bank; and developed a strategy and execution plan to consolidate four business units into a single payment unit for a global top 5 bank.
His sales experience includes system implementation, strategy development, M&A, growth advisory and cost takeout solutions for various financial institutions. Bill spent seven years in commercial banking, highlighted by leading the acquisition of a transportation finance company and building and integrating the operating model for the buyer.
