Risk Advisory Services Supervisor Marissa shares how she experiences caring at RSM:

During my career at RSM, there have been multiple occasions where I’ve wanted to try something new or work on different types of projects. In those occasions, leaders listened to my aspirations and helped me make them a reality—even at the earliest stages of my career.

When I first came to RSM, I gained a lot of exposure to a variety of audits. I discovered a type of project that I really enjoyed and envisioned myself working on, but I was assigned to a different, less-fulfilling project at the time. I decided to talk to the partner on the project I was passionate about and tell him my desire to work with his team. Since it was only my first year, I was nervous to voice my preference, but I am so glad I did. Without hesitation, he started putting me on his projects, and I soon became a dedicated resource to the team. This showed me that he truly cared about me, my goals and my happiness—which I have felt continually from him and many other RSM professionals since.

Beyond my career, I’ve experienced caring through the relationships I have with my colleagues. From receiving flowers from my team after knee surgery to establishing deep friendships both inside and outside the office, my RSM colleagues go above and beyond to show they care.

Throughout the four years of my career at RSM, I’ve realized that caring is truly core to our culture. You’re not just a number here. People genuinely care about you, personally and professionally, and will go the extra mile to help you succeed.
