Fast-growing security & privacy practice increasingly important to middle market

RSM US LLP (“RSM”) – the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market – is pleased to announce Sean Renshaw has joined the firm as a director in the security and privacy services practice and national leader of digital forensics and incident response. He is based in RSM’s Chicago office.

In his new role, Renshaw will be responsible for driving the continued growth of the practice, developing its talented professionals and ensuring leading practices in digital forensics and incident response are continually incorporated into RSM methodology.

“Sean has vast experience working for the United States government and consulting for a large international accounting firm,” said Daimon Geopfert, national leader of RSM US LLP’s security and privacy practice―a component of the firm’s risk advisory services practice (RAS). “He has frequently handled sensitive, complex matters, including fraud and embezzlement, regulatory agency inquiries, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act investigations led by boards of directors, theft of intellectual property and other disputes. He’ll be a tremendous asset for our middle market clients.”

Renshaw has more than 28 years of experience as a digital forensic investigator in federal law enforcement and consulting. He combines excellent technical abilities with strong team- and relationship- building skills.

“Today, security and privacy is top of mind for our clients, so it’s no surprise that it’s one of the fastest growing components of our RAS practice, said Rob Kastenschmidt, national RAS leader. “We’re extremely happy to welcome Sean to our growing risk advisory team.”

“I’m thrilled to be joining this very talented and exceptional team,” said Sean. “There’s a significant opportunity to introduce more clients to RSM and our capabilities, which will increase opportunities for our people. I look forward to being a part of moving RSM forward in the digital forensic and incident response arena.”

Renshaw is a graduate of Southern Illinois University and the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. He holds numerous highly respected security and privacy certifications, including the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE), Digital Forensics Certified Practitioner (DFCP) and the Certified Computer Examiner (CCE).
