RSM Secures Fifth Consecutive Term on PCI Security Standards Global Advisory Board

RSM to help shape standards that protect payment data and combat cyberthreats

CHICAGO – (Sept. 10, 2026) – For the fifth consecutive term, RSM US LLP (“RSM”) will bring its cybersecurity experience and middle market perspective to the global conversation shaping the future of payment security. RSM – the leading provider of consulting, tax and assurance services for the middle market – has been selected to serve on the PCI Security Standards Council's (PCI SSC) 2026-2028 Global Executive Assessor Roundtable (GEAR), extending an uninterrupted tenure dating to the advisory board’s inception in 2018.

RSM is one of 33 organizations selected globally to provide business and technical perspectives that inform data security standards and programs designed to help businesses detect, mitigate and prevent cyberattacks and breaches.

The appointment recognizes RSM's work helping organizations strengthen payment security and navigate evolving compliance requirements. RSM combines deep Payments Card Industry (PCI) compliance experience with broader cybersecurity and risk advisory capabilities to help organizations address emerging cyberthreats, protect sensitive payment data and build more resilient payment environments. The firm’s understanding of the middle market also enables it to bring the challenges facing clients directly into discussions with PCI SC leadership and assessor peers.

The PCI SSC Global Executive Assessor Roundtable serves as a direct channel for communication between senior leadership of payment security assessor organizations and PCI SSC leadership. As strategic partners, roundtable members provide industry, geographic and technical perspectives that help inform PCI SSC initiatives and programs.

“Five consecutive terms on GEAR reflect RSM’s sustained role in advancing the industry’s response to evolving security challenges,” said Sebouh Karakashian, managing director and global PCI services leader for RSM US LLP. “By bringing real-world client challenges and a distinct middle market perspective to the table, we help strengthen defenses, reduce risk and build confidence in payment environments.”

“The Global Executive Assessor Roundtable brings together experienced industry leaders whose expertise and perspectives help guide the continued evolution of PCI security standards and programs,” said Gina Gobeyn, Executive Director, PCI SSC. “We look forward to working with RSM as we continue advancing our shared mission of helping organizations protect payment data around the world.”
