And we know it takes more than formal education to build and hone your skills. At RSM, we look at development holistically—by providing a mix of education and traditional training, exposure to a supportive community that provides feedback and coaching, on-the-job experiences to practice your skills, and an inclusive RSM environment.

It also helps you align your contributions to firm strategy and enables intentional performance and career conversations with your career advisor and others throughout the year.

Through RSM-developed courses and partnerships with leading training groups, we offer hundreds of educational courses to ensure you can meet state and national licensing requirements by taking training relevant to your role and career goals. We also provide curated learning paths with training content that can help you prepare to take the certification exams, specifically for CISA, CISSP, CCSP, and CompTIA.

The CPA credential is vital to both you and our business. We strongly encourage all associates on a CPA path to obtain their license as early as possible in their careers. While achieving a CPA certification ultimately falls on your shoulders, we’re with you all the way providing encouragement and support through:

  • Exam preparation materials through Becker CPA review
  • Expense reimbursement for exam and application fees
  • Time off to prepare for and take the exam
  • Financial rewards for those who pass the exam within 18 months of college graduation

Starting Your Career experience at RSM Experience

If you join us directly from campus, you will participate in our Starting Your Career at RSM Experience (SY-CARE) program. This 12-month experience incorporates all aspects of our first-choice advisor development strategy, with a focus on developing your leadership, advisory and specialized skills through a combination of educational programs, experiences and exposure. SY-CARE helps create an inclusive environment that will set you up for a rewarding RSM experience.

At key points in your career, you’ll receive additional development support through focused programs and conferences to help you build confidence, skills and expertise. In addition, our executive programs provide aspiring partners/managing directors with the tools they need to successfully lead RSM forward.
