Stewardship is what it's all about...
Bailey Kosiek, Talent Management Senior Associate - RSM US LLP
We’re baaaaaaack! My husband Kevin and I have had the privilege of returning to Sea Island this year as part of my national leadership role with Birdies Fore Love. Setting foot back on the grounds brought a wave of excitement, knowing this year was such an incredibly successful fundraising year for RSM’s Birdies Fore Love program!
The RSM Classic transforms Sea Island. Everywhere you look you see RSM-branded signs, banners and other items. It’s so fun to see the buzz from clients, coworkers and the community around this event! Monday evening’s reception was all about our clients – thanking them for their dedication and commitment to the middle market and for letting us serve them. PGA Tour professional and Team RSM member Zach Johnson spoke and shared some funny stories with us, which was a unique and intimate experience for those in attendance. There were many laughs from the stories that he shared!
Tuesday was the big day, and one I’ve been looking forward to for a year now! The Yamaha Pro-Am draw party was hosted by Davis Love III and his wife Robin at their beautiful home, and it’s at this event that Laura Shen (RSM’s national Birdies Fore Love co-leader) and I had the pleasure of presenting the RSM US Foundation’s Birdies Fore Love check for over $2.8 million to the Davis Love Foundation! As the 2018 Birdies Fore Love co-leader, I am deeply proud and humbled by the generosity of RSM’s network of donors. These donations will directly impact more than 70 local charities and communities in which RSM’s employees live and work. Giving back to the community is a long-standing tradition at RSM, and has gained success as we have partnered with the Davis Love Foundation through The RSM Classic. As a result, more than $10 million has been raised for local and national charitable organizations, and this stewardship has been woven into the very culture of RSM.
We look forward to additional stewardship events this week as we participate in the charity putting competition and Folds of Honor events. The rest of the week will be filled with lots of golf, fun events, radio interviews, and enjoying the grounds of this beautiful resort (and hopefully an afternoon at the spa)! I am so thankful to work with an organization that supports the community, and has given me the opportunity to take part in something that I’m passionate about. It’s truly special to know I got to play a small part in transforming the lives of youth in our communities because of the people of RSM – their generosity and commitment to stewardship. I can’t wait to see what we can do next year!
