Dru Love is son of Davis Love III and played in the 2017 U.S. Open after qualifying as an alternate out of the Georgia sectionals (Davis Love III caddied for him).
Previously, he played with his father (and Justin Thomas, fellow U of Alabama teammate) as a sponsor’s exemption at The RSM Classic in 2015.
- 5 year senior at the University of Alabama (freshman redshirt), Dru fought through several injuries throughout his college career including ankle, right wrist, and left shoulder
- In his fourth college start, he won the 2015 Puerto Rico Classic (on the same day that his dad was named the Ryder Cup Captain)
- Dru played five playoff holes to win the Georgia State Amateur in 2015 with an 8-under-par 272 (66-67-69-60) at the Seaside Course at Sea island Golf Club
- More recently, Dru won the 2016 Golden Isles Invitational for the second time by posting a final round 65 to win by 5 shots
