Birdies Fore Love impact: Olive Crest
Since the Birdies Fore Love program started nine years ago, RSM has supported hundreds of charities in local communities around the United States. In 2017 alone the program raised over $2 million for 70 charities. Learn about the impact Birdies Fore Love has had on Olive Crest.
A non-profit organization based in California, Nevada, and throughout the Pacific Northwest, Olive Crest is dedicated to preventing child abuse, to treating and educating at-risk children, and to preserving the family “One Life at a Time.”® For the last 45 years, Olive Crest has transformed the lives of over 100,000 abused, neglected, and at risk children and their families by providing safe homes for kids in crisis, counseling, and education for youth and parents. 2018 is our Irvine office’s fifth year supporting Olive Crest, contributing over $187,000 during that time. Olive Crest’s many programs reflect its conviction that strengthening the family is one of the most powerful ways to help heal children.
According to Tim Bauer, the Executive Director of Development of Olive Crest Orange County, funds received from the 2017 RSM Birdies Fore Love program were used to support group homes for children, teens and aged-out foster youth, adoption placement and support, educational support and services, independent living skills, counseling/mental health treatment and family crisis intervention. “Olive Crest is deeply grateful for our partnership with RSM’s Birdies Fore Love program and for your consistent support, which has been instrumental in impacting the lives of some of Orange County’s most vulnerable youth,” he said. “This support has allowed Olive Crest to continue to have a tremendous impact on the lives of the children and families that we serve.”
Over the last year, Olive Crest has exceeded all four of its program and service outcomes below:
- 80 percent of youth have shown improvement as measured by the CAFAS (Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale) Scores
- 99.8 percent of children remain risk-free each month, meaning they are in a safe home environment
- 98 percent of foster and group home children have had two or less placement moves
- 87 percent of the children have transitioned to a more permanent home or graduated the program
In addition to Birdies Fore Love, Olive Crest benefits from RSM’s Volunteer Day. In 2018, nearly 80 RSM employees spent the day at an Olive Crest group home and working together to clean and beautify the home.
“In all, we’ve had an impact on the lives of more than 2,500 children and families over the last 12 months,” said Bauer. “We are proud to partner with a company whose solid core values genuinely convey a sense of responsibility for children and families in the community and is willing to invest in their future.”
