RSM Celebrates the Lunar New Year
DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION
Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival in modern China or simply the Lunar New Year, is an important Chinese festival celebrated at the turn of the traditional Chinese calendar year. The new year, the Year of the Dog, begins Fri., Feb. 16, 2018, giving RSM’s InspirAsian employee network group members and the rest of our 9,000 employees nationwide reason to celebrate.
The New Year festival is centuries old, and steeped in cultural myths and customs. Traditionally, the festival was a time to honor deities and ancestors. Lunar New Year is celebrated in other Asian countries and territories, including Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Mauritius, Australia and the Philippines, making it one of the most celebrated festivals in the world.
With more than 43,000 people in 120 countries around the world, a number of RSM’s people are celebrating the holiday. Here at RSM US LLP, we’d like to wish you and yours a Happy Lunar New Year!
