Housing, industrial, consumer data this week, along with inauguration
WEEKLY MARKET COMMENTARY |
The week ahead in financial markets will be defined by a heavy slate of Q4 2016 corporate earnings amidst a light economic calendar and a holiday-shortened trading week. Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and UnitedHealthcare are among the many significant earnings releases that will be published in the upcoming week. In addition, fresh data on housing, industrial activity, regional manufacturing and consumer sentiment will all be released.
The Federal Reserve (Fed) will send five speakers to address the public. Fed Chair Janet Yellen will speak twice. And, of course, the major event will be the inauguration of the 45th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, on Friday, Jan. 20.
