Global events continue to dominate economic landscape

Global themes are likely to influence investor risk appetite in the week ahead, among them the sovereign debt crisis in Europe and the ability of Chinese financial and monetary authorities to manage what is clearly an equity market bubble.
Housing data in the U.S., monetary policy in the U.K., retail sales in Canada and the tenuous agreement between Greece and its creditors also will influence global asset prices. The U.S., like much of the G-20 nations, will see a reduced number of data releases this week.
