Expect data on manufacturing, labor, vehicle sales and consumer credit
WEEKLY MARKET COMMENTARY |
The upcoming week will feature a spate of data impacted by the recent number of large hurricanes to hit Texas, Florida and the U.S. Caribbean. Thus for the four- to five-month period, much of the high-frequency data will have a giant asterisk associated with it as the September and October data look relatively weak. This follows two to three months of above trend data as reconstruction and rebuilding begins. The major data this week will focus on manufacturing, labor market data, vehicle sales and consumer credit.
The Federal Reserve (Fed) will send nine different speakers to address the public this week with likely the most market-moving talk being the Friday, Oct. 6 speech by New York Fed President William Dudley on monetary policy.
