Corporate earnings could drive market pricing this week
WEEKLY MARKET COMMENTARY |
Forward-looking investors and firm managers will closely focus on the first look at Q1 2017 corporate earnings in the week ahead which will be led by the Thursday, April 13 publication of JP Morgan, Citibank and Wells Fargo releases. Janet Yellen will address the economic outlook on Monday, April 10, and participate in a Q&A that afternoon. The U.S. Treasury will issue $24 billion in three-year notes also on Monday, $20 billion in 10-year notes on Tuesday, April 11 and $12 billion in a 30-year bond reopening on Wednesday, April 12. The holiday-shortened week will see a light calendar for fundamental economic data which will feature new information on consumer confidence, wholesale inflation, labor market information and retail sales.
