Eyes on U.S. growth, employment and monetary policy

With the sovereign debt crisis in Europe easing, investor focus this week will be on U.S. growth, employment and monetary policy. This week’s data calendar includes a bevy of first-tier economic releases featuring fresh information on the manufacturing sector, housing, consumer confidence, first-time jobless claims and the initial estimate of gross domestic product for the second quarter.
Also this week, the U.S. Treasury will issue $26 billion in 2-year notes on Tuesday, $15 billion in 5-year notes on Wednesday and $35 billion in 7-year notes on Thursday.
