RSM US Manufacturing Outlook Index

A monthly indicator of national manufacturing performance

The RSM US Manufacturing Outlook Index (MOI) aggregates manufacturing business sentiment surveys from the six regional Federal Reserve banks. Because of geographic differences and industry composition, sentiment levels can vary in each region. By offering an average, the MOI provides a cross-country outlook of manufacturing activity in the United States. This allows manufacturers to view industry-specific economic conditions more broadly and make smarter business decisions.
