Financial Consulting Leader, Partner

About Stacy

Stacy Dow leads the financial consulting practice at RSM US LLP. She is responsible for the strategy and growth of the practice, which encompasses technical accounting, valuation services, forensic investigations and disputes, and actuarial services. She started her career in public accounting in 1991 and has been with RSM or a predecessor firm since.

Experience

Stacy has a diverse background in public accounting spanning various service lines and industries, focusing on technology and life sciences. She has a master’s degree in tax and significant experience in valuations and forensic work, including serving as an expert witness in financial disputes. Stacy also served as an audit partner, focused on public and private equity-backed technology and life sciences clients, for over 15 years. She currently leads the firm’s initiatives around managed services in consulting, collaborating with teams to bring new offerings to market and set strategic priorities.

Prior to her role as financial consulting practice leader, Stacy founded and led the technical accounting practice, assisting clients with technical accounting and financial reporting issues associated with capital markets readiness, transformative events, regulatory compliance and stakeholder reporting. She has also served as an outsourced chief financial officer during her time with the firm, deepening her client perspective. Stacy developed her technical knowledge through her inquisitive nature and close relationships with clients and is committed to serving their needs throughout their business life cycle.

One of Stacy’s greatest satisfactions is witnessing the success of her colleagues; she loves mentoring the next generation of RSM professionals to assist them in finding and following their passion. She is instrumental in creating opportunities for younger professionals to grow and succeed, sometimes encouraging staff to take on new challenges that might be uncomfortable. As a mentor and leader, she is known for encouraging people to become comfortable with the uncomfortable to break through the arbitrary limits we set for ourselves.

Stacy is involved in RSM’s culture, diversity and inclusion efforts, serving on the women’s consulting leadership council and the STAR employee network group (ENG) to encourage women's leadership in the firm. As the mom of two, she has also supported the Family First ENG. She fosters diversity daily by working with a team that spans gender, race and ethnicity across North America and India.

Stacy has a dedicated morning exercise routine and is part of RSM’s Peloton interest group. She enjoys connecting with colleagues on group rides, including during the pandemic when they raised money for charitable causes such as multiple sclerosis. She is also passionate about early childhood education and volunteers with the Jumpstart organization in the greater Boston area.
