Rod joined RSM in 2004 as the firm established a professional business development organization. He has 32 years of experience leading business development efforts in the professional services sector, focusing on helping companies improve their financial, operational and growth results, domestically and internationally.
Rod is a strong proponent of an agile approach to business development structure, alignment and deployment, evolving frameworks to meet the ever-changing markets and buyers. As NAS leader, Rod brings significant experience aligning people, processes, and tools to the firm’s overall growth and business objectives. He develops and executes go-to-market growth strategies that leverage the strengths of business development and assurance, tax, and consulting professionals to maximize growth goals. This approach also requires agile tool development, such as the recently introduced RSM Digital Dossier, which allows go-to-market resources to become more efficient and effective as they engage our markets.
Rod also oversees the firm’s newly created Strategic Business Alliances Center of Excellence, which focuses on expanding RSM’s business partnerships and channels through strategic alliances to expand client value and develop new business opportunities.
Rod is a member of the firm’s Consulting Leadership Team, Communications, Marketing and Growth (CMG) Executive Leadership Team and a former member of RSM’s Employee Network Group (ENG) Council. Rod is committed to the sustainability of RSM’s unrivaled and inclusive culture by investing in our people and fostering this mindset in all aspects of the NAS leadership team and across the enterprise.
Rod is an avid outdoorsman in his free time—something he’s loved since childhood. You can often find Rod traversing the woods of northern Wisconsin during the fall and winter and fishing or boating with his family on the many area lakes near their cabin during summer.
