Experience

A licensed attorney with more than 25 years of experience in cross-border tax matters, Ramon’s leadership role with WNT is at the intersection of U.S. and foreign tax law. With many clients expanding their operations globally, Ramon plays an integral role assisting clients with international transactions. He provides technical knowledge on complex international tax questions about new legislation and regulations, bringing fresh ideas to clients that help them meet their financial and tax compliance objectives and increase value in their organization. His clients range from individuals and family offices to Fortune 500 multinational corporations.

Ramon brings years of knowledge and technical experience in international tax from his previous roles at the Internal Revenue Service, where he served as an attorney-advisor in the National Office of the Office of Chief Counsel (International), and from his time in the international tax practice for other law and public accounting firms. He stays abreast of tax reform changes in Washington through his network of connections with legislative groups on Capitol Hill and within the Treasury Department. His WNT team advises clients on all aspects of U.S. international tax planning and compliance.

By interacting with government agencies around the world, he has the opportunity to understand and appreciate other cultures, governments and legislative systems. This global viewpoint aligns with RSM’s initiatives in culture, diversity and inclusion, in which Ramon is deeply invested. He is passionate about his team and is part of RSM’s efforts to train the next generation of RSM leaders by being a one-on-one coach and advisor to his team members. He appreciates that RSM provides the flexibility to help employees realize their passion and pursue it in a way that is mutually beneficial for individuals and the firm.
