Lauren Demas is principal and a member of RSM US LLP’s national tax technology consulting practice, operating out of the firm’s McLean, Virginia, office. As a leader in RSM’s partnership technology services group, she supports the go-to-market strategy for the firm’s proprietary platform, PartnerSight®, which enables partnerships to efficiently and flexibly manage compliance and reporting requirements using agile technology.
Lauren brings nearly two decades of experience to RSM, where she helps clients maximize the benefits of the firm’s tax technology platforms. She is passionate about using technology to help clients and colleagues make more efficient use of their time. Her focus is PartnerSight and FamilySight, two key platforms in RSM’s suite of tax technology tools that allow users to leverage automation for prioritizing more high-value tasks.
Before joining RSM in 2020, Lauren was a client for 12 years at one of the largest top-five asset management firms where she consulted on U.S. tax compliance and tax operations. As a former user of tax technologies on the client side, Lauren brings a deep understanding of the day-to-day demands that clients face when it comes to maximizing their time and working more efficiently. She brings the voice of the client and requisite industry knowledge to bear in her role, growing the compliance and consulting client base through technology implementation and process optimization. She began her career in public accounting in 2001 and spent several years at a Big Four firm.
Lauren’s passion for maximizing the use of tax data comes from her experience working with private equity firms managing their U.S. tax compliance filings. She is well versed in how tax data is employed throughout the life cycle of a transaction. Her draw toward technology is due to her continued curiosity about maximizing efficiencies to benefit every aspect of our professional and personal lives. RSM provides the right balance for Lauren to think creatively, learn new things and implement collaborative solutions to help clients and colleagues through automation.
A health enthusiast, Lauren enjoys eating whole and unprocessed foods to reap the maximum nutritional value to maintain her health. She looks forward to a day when she can grow her own organic food in a backyard garden.
