As a seasoned professional in the health care industry, Karen is driven by a deep passion for improving the well-being of others. She began her career in public accounting and has served clients of all sizes, including large accelerated filers, large not-for-profit health systems, GASB health systems, academic medical institutions, children’s hospitals, hospice entities, home health care companies, long-term acute care facilities, physician groups in a wide variety of specialties and other ancillary health care entities.
With a specialization in health care revenue recognition, actuarially determined liabilities, variable interest entities, share-based compensation, business combinations and Securities and Exchange Commission financial reporting, she has consistently demonstrated her ability to navigate complex matters with precision and skill, making her an invaluable asset to health care organizations. Her exceptional ability to explain complex health care regulations and her unwavering commitment to quality make her an esteemed professional and trusted advisor in the dynamic health care industry.
In addition to her technical proficiency, Karen collaborates with executive leadership of RSM in multiple firm leadership roles, developing and executing strategic initiatives and fostering service line integrations with internal teams.
A true believer in giving back to her community, Karen teaches her three children the importance of doing so as well. In addition, she rides horses, sings in a church band and practices yoga to relieve stress and build more focus and balance in life.
