Bruce Jorth joined RSM US LLP as an assurance partner and was formerly chief risk officer and leader of the firm’s national office of risk management.
Bruce serves as an advisor to the firm’s chief risk officer and his leadership team.
As chief risk officer, Bruce worked directly with the national line of business leaders to refine RSM’s understanding and assessment of risks, and to facilitate the development of key strategies that balance and focus the firm’s risk management efforts. Bruce led a team of risk management professionals who established and monitored the firm’s quality control processes, including managing all inspections. He was responsible for oversight of the independence, licensing and regulatory compliance functions, professional liability matters, functional monitoring and enterprise risk management.
A thoughtful leader with a pragmatic approach, Bruce has years of progressive experience at RSM. He has a deep understanding of the issues and complexities that professional service firms face. Prior to becoming the chief risk officer, Bruce led RSM’s assurance practice in Florida. He has held roles overseeing national committees, including the Quality Control Inquiry Committee and the Risk Oversight Committee. He is a former member of RSM US LLP’s board of directors.
Bruce’s role functioned as the conscience of the firm, ensuring that the firm has the right risk policies in place to ensure future success and responsible growth. He is deeply invested in the people and clients at RSM and is focused on making sure he gives back to the firm and its people through his participation in the firm’s STAR, VALOR and Interfaith employee network groups.
Raised on a farm in northwest Iowa, Bruce moved to Connecticut in 1989 and Florida in 1997. He and his wife enjoy traveling, particularly visiting vineyards in Napa Valley, California. He is an avid baseball fan and is on a quest to visit every professional baseball stadium in the country.
